Yes, it was done in the 60s and was a success! A man in Pennsylvania was allowed by the gov to do it to his son and daughter who were T1D but then he had to stop. The gov and pharmacies could make more money on treatment than surgery. My Mom had the articles from the Mason City Ia Globe Gazette but I haven’t been able to locate the articles since my Mother expired and my brother cleaned out the house
