Members shared mixed experiences with the Dexcom G7, with some reporting that early issues were resolved and praising its calibration feature, while others experienced connectivity problems with devices like watches, frequent false low alarms with new sensors, and adhesive challenges requiring extra tape or glue. Several members mentioned practical workarounds, including calibrating before bedtime to avoid nighttime alarms, manually checking readings with finger pricks during low blood sugar corrections, and noting that Dexcom's customer service was responsive in replacing faulty sensors. A recurring theme was that while the G7 offers advantages over the G6 and other CGMs like the Libre, many members are waiting for better compatibility with their insulin pumps or sticking with the G6 until the G7 is more reliable.

I’m still using the G6 with the Omnipod. I calibrate it at least 1-2 times a week with a finger prick. I’m staying with it until the G7 is perfected more. As of now, I feel the 6 and Omnipod work like the “normal” things or as close as I’m going to get 😊

I got mine last summer. I like it, but I’ve had a few issues. I had 2 sensors that wouldn’t pair with my phone. I had 1 or 2 that wouldn’t let me calibrate it. The most frequent issue is that I often get fake low alarms when I put in a new sensor. I now try to do a couple of calibrations before going to bed to minimize being woken up at 4am for no good reason. That being said, the customer service has been good. They have sent a new sensor when I’ve had an issue with one.

I have had issues with the G7 not staying on. I have to use there adhesive, tegaderm and mastisol glue. Also, you have to double check here and there manually to make sure your G7 is calibrated correctly.

Robert, it will be a while once the Omnipod compatible with the G7 will have a phone app, but I did use it with the G6 version and I loved it. Not sure if it was easier necessarily but only carrying around one device was wonderful.
