Members shared their frustrations with the Dexcom G7 losing signal frequently, even when devices are close by, with many noting that sleeping on the sensor side or keeping phones in another room often triggers disconnections. Several members offered reassurance that the signal loss issue improves when the sensor connects directly to an insulin pump rather than relying on a phone app, and suggested practical workarounds like keeping devices on a nightstand overnight and avoiding pressure on the sensor site during sleep. A recurring theme was the emotional weight of adapting to new diabetes technology, with members expressing both the stress of constant troubleshooting and the encouragement to communicate openly with medical teams about what feels manageable.

So, I talked with my pump trainer yesterday & she said that Dexcom is working on that (the app is notorious for dropping signal) but it won't matter when I get my pump, because I won't need the phone app for that - the pump will receive straight from the sensor.

Thank you for your kind words. Actually, I freak out thinking about having this pump for the rest of my life. The tubing is the biggest worry to me.

Hi Donna,
I know this can be frustrating, but hang in there. I am currently on the Dexcom G6 and I know it can be a lot with losing signal and it takes 2 HOJRS to connect. Please discuss with your endocrinologist about the G7. I just saw my endocrinologist and I asked him about going back on the G7(when I went on the Omnipod 5, I had to go back on the G6). My endo said for me to stay on the G6 for now if possible, because people are having problems with the G7 not alarming for lows. Just wanted to let you know, Good luck😊. Hope this helps a little. I personally would love to go back on the G7, but until they fix the issue, I will stay on the G.

Hi, I use the Dexcom 7 with my phone and the Omnipod with the Omnipod controller. Your pod will work without your Dexcom. I try not to lay on the side my Dex and pod are on but hey, when I’m asleep…. I do charge each at night so put them on my night stand so they are by me so no problems ( just an idea). Hope this helps some.
My hardest thing with them was getting them to work at first and then when I changed them in 3 and 10 days. But you’ll love them once you get them working!!!

I know it’s frustrating! Even though my phone and reader (G7 is still not compatible with iPhone) are in my bathroom overnight (within range), the sensor lose signal at least once. If I sleep on the side my sensor, I will get a signal loss too.
