You need to move the pump if tubeless, or infusion set if tubed, to different areas of your body. Taking insulin in the same area repeatedly leads to the scarring. Talk to your care team and/or your pump trainer about areas other than your belly to wear/attach your pump.

The scarring you're experiencing could be related to lipodystrophy, which is a common complication from insulin injections and pump sites. It can appear as deep scars or changes in the fatty tissue beneath the skin. This happens due to repeated insulin delivery in the same areas or from not rotating injection/pump sites frequently enough.

The good news is that these marks can improve with proper site rotation and injection technique. Work with your healthcare team to develop a comprehensive site rotation plan to prevent further scarring and allow existing areas to heal. For existing scars, proper site management is key. Monitor your blood glucose levels carefully, as lipodystrophy can affect insulin absorption and lead to unpredictable blood sugar levels. With consistent site rotation and proper technique, most people see improvement in affected areas within several weeks.
