I was nervous about starting the pump. I procrastinated for over two years. But I educated myself about them all, Got a CGM first and got comfortable with that. Then I got a pump. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I only wish I had made the leap sooner. I come from the days of pork insulin and testing our urine to get a glucose read. Technology has come a long way. It may not be perfect but it is so much better than it used to be. Educate yourself on all the products available and that your insurance will cover, then choose the ones that fit with your lifestyle. I am using the DexCom G7 and the OmniPod 5. I am hoping to go to the longer lasting Continous Glucose Monitor at my next appointment with my endocrinologist.

I’ e been using a pump since 1971 and my A1C is 5.2! I’ve given birth to 5 children who have blessed me with 7 grandchildren!

The maker of my pump has videos available on many subjects, and they sent manuals about everything you need to know about the pump. Plus my endocrinologist sent me to a diabetic educator that taught me how to inset, work and program my pump and she is available for questions.

Thank you so much Greg. I will listen to your advice which simplifies things. I am going through major family issues right now, so I can't put one more thing in my head right now. My educator also is not understanding of anything and I never did like her. Looking for another through my docs resources . Hopefully this will all work out🙏🏻. I'm all set for all the equipment of an omnipod 5 and Dex com 7. Still nervous though

I was nervous at first. Wasn't sure if it would help lower my A1c. I've had it for 6 or more months with a few hiccups works great now! Learn everything you can about the disease and if you have a pump or giving injections. I have a pump with a CGM Bata Bionics Ilet and the Dexcom G7. Great choice!!😇
