Medicare And Switching To Omnipod
A MyType1DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am using Tandem with G7, and I want to switch to an Omnipod. I realize the Omnipod does not yet use G7, but when it does, I want to switch. Has anyone stopped using a tubed pump and gone to Omnipod while they are still in the five-year period after acquiring their regular pump? I started tandem two years ago.

Insulin Pumps
A MyType1DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed a year ago with Type 1 at the age of 64. My doctor is recommending that I consider an insulin pump and has given me brochures on the omnipod5, t-slim x2, and ilet bionic pancreas. I currently use the Dexcon G7 glucose monitor.

Any recommendations, pros/cons on any of these devices would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kelly D

Weight Control With High Blood Sugar
A MyType1DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

In my 20's I controlled my weight by having high blood sugar. It also caused early kidney failure thus the kidney/pancreas transplant. It was all about me controlling something/anything in my life. Does anyone else do this, or thought about this? I wish I had the education and the new gadgets that are out now.

The tandem pump is made by tandem. Their pump is called tslim x2.
