Hi James, No Type 1 diabetes is not curable. It should have been years ago - however from what my endo told me it is a very complicated case of more than one disease. I developed Type 1 diabetes when I was 16. It was then called juvenile diabetes. I am now 74 and am still waiting for a cure. Yes, technology has come a long ways but if we can put a man on the moon - where is our cure?? That is a rhetorical question. Good luck and try to be as strict as you can be with your diet and other suggestions from your endo!!

No, there isn't a cure for type 1 diabetes. However, it is a very treatable disease. With proper treatment, individuals with type 1 diabetes can live full and healthy lives.
