Am just wondering if anyone has experience here in Alberta? I want to switch to the Omnipod 5 and would love to hear from others who have switched. Was it difficult or easy? A long process? My current endocrinologist is not very helpful either.
I was originally on Omnipod Dash myself. Then, I moved long distance, from Florida to Kentucky, and I switched Endocrinologists, and I had picked a GREAT Endocrinologist! He switched me to Omnipod 5, and now, I'm not taking ANY 24-hour insulin-I was taking 18 units Tresiba-and I have not taken it since last May! And my a1c has been OUT OF THIS WORLD GREAT! 6.4, 6.6, and most recently, 6.5!!!
56 years of managing T1D is truly remarkable — you clearly know your stuff! While there aren't specific shared experiences from Alberta members about switching through the provincial pump program, there are some helpful things to know about the Omnipod 5 itself.

Hi Michael - wow, such good results for you! That’s so great. Was the transition difficult? How long was the training? I’m really curious about all this and am going to apply for Omnipod 5 soon. Just a little worried about the transition. With Dash, I only use Fiasp so it probably won’t be too tough. Thanks so much for your response!
