With my new pod change, I am finding that I have to give myself more insulin than usual to cover what I’m eating. I hat I’m eating hasn’t changed and the insulin covering amount is way more than normal. Not sure what’s going on.

Yes, insulin can lose potency or go bad over time.

I'm 71 and take less insulin now than I have for the past 47 years of having this disease. I am extremely active so I'm constantly needing less to keep my blood sugar in the normal range.

I turned 60 in April. My doses of insulin have gone up alot from 1u to 10g to 3-5u for 10g. Now I'm on the Ilet pump. 1 insulin no needles. So now it's still learning my carb intake for the first week or two. Using less humalog and more controlled sugars!

Hey Greg, I also turned 60yo back in May, and yes your insulin requirements increase with ur age and weight! It’s a viscous cycle unfortunately but certainly manageable with the right endo who works with u and not dictate to u. I recommend asking for any of the glp1 or slt2 meds like Ozempic or Zepbound
